How It Started
Back in 2022, I wanted to sell something of my own, I wanted to have my own brand. I had a huge passion for clothing, it was a huge part of my confidence. I'd always match my outfits as I was strict on colour coordination, the more variety of colours I had, the more it would cost just to match those colours. It would get pricey, I would always spend money that I didn't have just on clothing. Everytime I bought clothes, I'd go for designer, pricey clothes as opening the packaging felt like opening a treasure chest, to me at least. The wave of excitement I used to get would grow and grow the closer I was to getting to my brand new designer shirt, which cost me an arm and a leg.
In December 2022, I applied for a trademark for my brand. I had a logo in mind but as soon as it came to applying it for a trademark, I quickly changed it to the one I'm using currently.
I started focusing on my brand in 2023, using inkjet tshirt transfers and some t-shirts that I'd buy from the local market. I would print logos on with the transfers and an Iron, there were many failures so I never made any sales at that period of time. Two or so months went by, I was able to buy a heatpress and a vinyl cutter, and a few balaclavas. They were simple to print on as they were small and the quality was up to standard. I only made like 5 sales.
In April 2023, my trademark application was accepted, I was buzzing. Started to experiment a bit more with tshirts, tracksuits, windbreakers and gilets. I never put any up for sale as I was only making samples.
In July 2023, my parents and I moved house, a bigger house, a house that had a garage. I immediately took it as the space it had was perfect for my business. I had a container to store all my stock in, a clothes rail to showcase my samples and a backdrop kit for photos. I was ready, so all i had to do now is focus on my brand and make it public. I bought tracksuit samples from a manufacturer overseas, one after another. After finalising a sample that I was satisfied with, I risked it and ordered 40, 20 in navy and 20 in light blue ranging from size S to size L.
I thought to myself, if I was going to do this, I was going to do it the best I could.
